Our mission on the ground: Lola Children’s Home

Founded in 2009 by visionary director, Abebe Fantahun, Lola Children's Home was born out of a critical need in Mekelle, Tigray. In a region historically challenged by economic vulnerability, health crisis, and conflict, Lola has served as an enduring sanctuary.

Lola is not an impersonal institution— it is a true home. Here, children are nurtured as brothers and sisters, supported by dedicated local caregivers, and encouraged to stay deeply connected with extended family and their surrounding community.

Sponsorship & Membership Tiers

  • $35 per month will cover 3 daily meals for 1 child a month.

  • $50 per month will support the meals and education costs for 1 child.

  • $100 per month will support medical costs.

  • $500 will cover a full month of operation costs
